Trade union for actors, stage managers and models in the UK they also represent singers dancers designers comedians and voice actors. They represent them for decent pay, health and safety and more opportunities for all.
BECTU (broadcasting, entertainment, communications and theatre union.)
BECTU provides a range of services which include negotiating pay, personal advice and representation for individual representation. They also help with training.
They represent people from broadcasting and independent productions to IT technicians.
PACT
This represents UK independent TV, film, digital, children and animation. PACT provides legal and business advice for its members.
Legal requirements
Insurance all uk productions need insurance for them to get permission to film or carry out photography. It should be obtained in early pre production.
Health and safety
Health and safety is important as without it people can get injured the film could get shut down due to bad health and safety or the crew could get injured causing the film to get delayed. Its a legal requirement to have health and safety and have it visible all over the work place.
Working with children
Children can only work a certain amount of hours and still need to get schooled. They also may need a child performance licence. They also need to be supervised at all times.
Working with animals
The animals need to be looked after and not put under distress. There needs to be a animal handler with the animal. Cant force the animal to do things. Cant put them in pain. The supplier needs a animal trainers licence .
Minimun pay
You still have to pay the people working on the film minimum wage. the minimum wage is £7.83 for over 25s £7.38 for 21-24 and £5.90 for 18-20.
